Archival Restoration - Experimenting with Python Using VapourSynth + Resolve

October 25, 2021

I recently live streamed an archival restoration session and have uploaded this video (with some boring bits cut out for your benefit) to YouTube as a contribution to our creative community. I used VapourSynth for the color space conversion as well as for up-sampling the bit depth and chroma sub-sampling prior to importing into Davinci Resolve Studio 17 for further restoration and color grading. You may find more information about VapourSynth along with a stable installation package for Windows on my recent blog article here.
